The Takdir was established in 1979 on the town’s seafront, has doubled in size and bringing a modern twist on their authentic Indian cuisine to form part of the regeneration of Whitley Bay.
The business, now in the hands of second generation siblings Mamun and Suffian Rahman who took over day to day operations from their father Mujibur ten years ago, have transformed an empty building into a stylish, glass fronted restaurant. With up to 90 seats, themed on different aspects of the Raj era, rich colours and inspired from the Taj Mahal which reflects some aspects of the dome architecture.
Moulded on the success of the brothers’ highly acclaimed restaurant, The Gulshan in Tynemouth, The Takdir Indian Kitchen, Grill and Cocktail bar will offer customers the opportunity to taste exquisite reinvented Indian cuisine whilst enjoying an extensive cocktail and gin menu.
